Basketball Recap: Kingman Comes Up Short

Kingman lost against Cheney back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kingman Eagles had to suffer through a 87-23 loss at the hands of the Cheney Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Cardinals are ranked 39th).

Dawson Wood was Kingman's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Ben Bradshaw held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.

Kingman is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. As for Cheney, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0.

Kingman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-32 defeat against Lyons on the 21st. Cheney has also already played their next game, a 68-18 win against Rose Hill on the 20th.
