Basketball Game Preview: Malakoff Tigers vs. Edgewood Bulldogs

The Malakoff Tigers will face off against the Edgewood Bulldogs at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Malakoff is coming into the game hot, having won their last 11 games.

On Friday, Malakoff was fully in charge, breezing past Holliday 53-22. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Edgewood came up short against Gregory-Portland on Thursday and fell 51-42. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 844th, while the Wildcats are ranked 407th).

Malakoff's victory bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Edgewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Malakoff strolled past Edgewood when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a score of 58-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Malakoff since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
