Basketball Recap: Pottsville Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pottsville can now relate to. They fell just short of the Penncrest Lions by a score of 46-43 on Friday. The Crimson Tide's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Several Crimson Tide players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Alvarez, who made all 6 shots he took to post 17 points. Alvarez is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 100% in the last 30 games he's played dating back to last season. Letrel Montone was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Pottsville's defeat dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Penncrest, their victory was their 12th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-4.
