Volleyball Recap: Pender Takes a Loss

Pender managed to slip by Stanton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pendragons lost 3-0 to the Mustangs on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pendragons have suffered since October 9th.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Stanton scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Pender saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mattilyn Trimble had 16 digs and four assists. Trimble has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Pender moved to 18-13 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Stanton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.

Pender does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stanton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Guardian Angels Central Catholic on the 28th.
