Volleyball Recap: Pender Pendragons vs. Stanton Mustangs

Pender managed to slip by Stanton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pendragons lost 3-0 to the Mustangs on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pendragons have suffered since October 9th.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Stanton scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Pender saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mattilyn Trimble had 16 digs and four assists. Trimble has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Pender moved to 18-13 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Stanton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.
