Volleyball Recap: Sahuaro Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Sahuaro was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cholla two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Salpointe Catholic Lancers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-15, 25-13.

Kaylie Rice paced Sahuaro's offense, picking up four kills. Rice got some help from Delarenta Ochoa and her four assists.

Salpointe Catholic can attribute much of their success to Caitlin Hurley, who had 16 assists and two aces. That's the most aces Hurley has posted over her last eight matchups.

Sahuaro has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Salpointe Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-7.

Sahuaro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Mica Mountain on the 16th. As for Salpointe Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Maricopa on the 15th.
