The Anthem Prep Eagles will challenge the Lincoln Prep Lightning at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Anthem Prep turned things around against Salome on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 23-5 margin over the Frogs. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Adam Beeman was a standout: he scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Anthem Prep: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-6 otherwise. Jovan Durickovic was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances.
Anthem Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Prep put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let Arete Prep get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. The Lightning have beaten the CHARGERS the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the CHARGERS has come to flipping the script.
Jackson Platt and Parker Filleman were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Platt tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Filleman pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Platt has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Platt scored four runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Filleman scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Platt a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nate Watson, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Cash Luce, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.
Lincoln Prep pushed their record up to 6-6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Anthem Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Anthem Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lincoln Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.5 strikeouts.
