Volleyball Recap: Contra Costa Christian Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Contra Costa Christian and Quarry Lane had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Contra Costa Christian took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Quarry Lane on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for Contra Costa Christian in their meetings with Quarry Lane: they've now lost three in a row.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-15, 19-25, 25-11.

Violet Fisina paced Contra Costa Christian's offense, picking up six kills. Fisina really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with six. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Anna Johnston, each putting up three.

Contra Costa Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Quarry Lane, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-1.

Coincidentally, Contra Costa Christian and Quarry Lane will both be playing California School for the Deaf the next time they take the court. Quarry Lane will head out to face California School for the Deaf at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Contra Costa Christian will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
