Basketball Recap: Valley Vikings vs. Johnson Warriors

This season hasn't been kind to the Valley Vikings, who are still winless after their 23rd contest. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-42 walloping at the hands of Johnson on Monday. Valley has struggled against the Warriors recently, as their game on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oscar Zaragoza, who scored 14 points. Zaragoza is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Roy Pacheco, who scored nine points.

Valley dropped their record down to 0-23 with that loss, which was their 24th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Johnson, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Valley will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Florin is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Johnson, they will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Campus is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.
