Baseball Recap: Mansfield Summit Has No Trouble Against Seguin

It was a proper cat-fight when Mansfield Summit duked it out with Seguin on Tuesday. The Mansfield Summit Jaguars were the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over the Seguin Cougars. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Mansfield Summit got a great performance from Ayden Martinez as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Martinez a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Marcus Johnson was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Ian Buehne, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Mansfield Summit kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.2.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-12. As for Seguin, they dropped their record down to 8-6 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Mansfield Summit will have a chance to go back-to-back against Seguin: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
