Preview: Tallassee Tigers vs. Ellwood Christian Eagles
The Tallassee Tigers's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Ellwood Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Tallassee has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 177 points over their last three contests.
Last Friday, Tallassee beat Beauregard by the very same score they won with last week: 61-49.
It was another big night for Rowen Thornton, who scored 30 points.
Meanwhile, Ellwood Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 15th straight loss. They were beaten by Autaugaville 78-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ellwood Christian has scored all season.
Tallassee's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Ellwood Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
Everything came up roses for Tallassee against Ellwood Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 79-38 victory. Will Tallassee repeat their success, or does Ellwood Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
