Football Recap: Lowndes Vikings vs. North Gwinnett Bulldogs
Lowndes and North Gwinnett squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lowndes had to settle for second. They took a 29-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
Despite the loss, Lowndes still got an impressive performance from Jayce Johnson, who rushed for 78 yards and one TD, and also threw for 123 yards and one touchdown.
North Gwinnett's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Stephen Brown led the charge by rushing for 62 yards and one score on only six carries. Evan Hawkins was another key player, picking up 85 receiving yards and one TD.
