Basketball Recap: Macomb Takes a Loss

Macomb was the 48-44 winner over Canton when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Macomb Bombers took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Canton Little Giants on Monday.

Canton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Allison Wheeler led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Wheeler also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grace Spencer, who posted seven points in addition to 14 boards and three blocks.

Macomb's loss dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Canton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-14 record this season.

Macomb does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-24 defeat against Peoria Notre Dame on the 20th.
