Basketball Recap: The Colorado Springs School Takes a Loss

The Colorado Springs School played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Swallows Charter Academy Spartans 45-17. The Kodiaks just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Swallows Charter Academy was led to victory by Erica Ponce and Jade Anaya. Ponce went 8 of 19 on her way to 20 points in addition to eight steals and six boards, while Anaya dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Anaya a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Graham, who posted six points and three steals.

The Colorado Springs School's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Swallows Charter Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Colorado Springs School will take on Monument Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Swallows Charter Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Kiowa at 4:30 p.m.
