Basketball Recap: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. East Duplin Panthers
South Lenoir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 63-56 to the East Duplin Panthers. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.
It was another big night for Calvin Harper, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 25 points for East Duplin. Another player making a difference was Zachary Ball, who went 5 of 11 en route to 10 points.
South Lenoir's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for East Duplin, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-4.
South Lenoir will host North Lenoir at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Duplin, they will square off against Wallace-Rose Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Duplin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season.
