Volleyball Recap: Torrington Takes a Loss

Torrington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Oxford Wolverines. Raiders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Wolverines since Thursday.

Torrington started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 0-25, 25-6, 25-0, 25-0.

Emily Jones paced Torrington's offense, picking up four kills. Jones got some help from Angelina Ciesco and her five assists. Ciesco was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Torrington's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Oxford, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Torrington has already played their next contest (against Watertown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Oxford also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Ansonia.
