Basketball Recap: West St. Mary Falls Short of Midland in the Playoffs

West St. Mary and Midland squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but West St. Mary had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 60-26 loss at the hands of the Midland Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while the Rebels are ranked 35th).

West St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Midland, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-11 record this season.

West St. Mary does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Midland, they will square off against Merryville on Thursday. One thing working in Midland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
