Soccer Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Greenwood

On Thursday, Hillcrest faced Greenwood in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Hillcrest Rams fell just short of the Greenwood Eagles by a score of 1-0. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Greenwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Hillcrest will be playing at home against T.L. Hanna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillcrest is facing T.L. Hanna at the right time seeing as T.L. Hanna is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Greenwood, they will head out to square off against Mauldin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mauldin's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
