Alexander hit Newnan with a six-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Newnan came up short against Alexander, falling 14-6.
Khloe Walker made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Brooke Bowen, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.
Newnan's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Langston Hughes, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
Newnan's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Langston Hughes has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game.
