Softball Recap: Malad Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Malad put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Snake River Panthers get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 last Wednesday.

Riglee Peterson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring five runs and stealing six bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bostyn Combs, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Hadlee Summers was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Malad was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .528. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Malad pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.the team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team won's by an average of 12.9 runs thus far As for Snake River, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Malad will welcome Marsh Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Snake River, they will head out to take on Sugar-Salem at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
