Softball Game Preview: Round Lake Panthers vs. Lakes Eagles

Round Lake hasn't had much luck against Lakes recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Panthers will square off against the Eagles at 4:45 p.m. Round Lake has given up an average of 13.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Round Lake lost 26-4 to Grayslake Central on Tuesday.

Round Lake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Piper Berry, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another was Arianna Cabral, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Lakes came up short against Grayslake North on Tuesday and fell 4-1.

Eryn Oleson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

Round Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Lakes, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Round Lake couldn't quite finish off Lakes in their previous matchup on April 7th and fell 6-4. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
