Preview: Lake Park Lancers vs. Geneva Vikings
Lake Park and Geneva are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Lake Park Lancers will head out on the road to face off against the Geneva Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Park is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Lake Park scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 64-30 win over Bloomington. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.
Meanwhile, Geneva unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Metea Valley by a score of 44-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Geneva has suffered yet this season.
Lake Park pushed their record up to 19-3 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Geneva, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
Lake Park strolled past Geneva in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 53-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Park since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
