Baseball Recap: Perry Comes Up Short

Perry extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 6-17-1. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers. If the Pumas were looking for revenge after losing 5-1 to the Badgers when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Alex Lee and Michael Parker did some serious damage despite the final result: Lee went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Parker went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Lee has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Caballero, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for Tucson High Magnet School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

On Tucson High Magnet School's side, they let Alan Krimpe and Aldo Teilon run wild. Krimpe went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Teilon went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Krimpe a new career-high. Luis Rodriquez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Perry wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Chandler on the 23rd. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Cesar Chavez on the 24th.
