Basketball Recap: Bergtraum Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

With a playoff win on the line, Bergtraum rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past Banneker Academy, posting a 65-36 win. The Blazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 25 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Veralyn Aviles, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten boards. Her big performance that afternoon made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leia Perez, who posted ten points and four steals.

Bergtraum's victory was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 48.3 points. As for Banneker Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.

Bergtraum wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 43-41 win against South Bronx Prep on the 9th. Banneker Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
