Preview: Viewmont Vikings vs. Northridge Knights

Viewmont is 8-2 against Northridge since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Viewmont Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Northridge Knights at 5:15 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Viewmont is ranked 53rd, while Northridge is ranked 64th).

Viewmont's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woods Cross. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Viewmont has scored all season.

Despite the defeat, Viewmont got a solid performance out of Aubrey Mulitalo, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary Carr, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Northridge came up short against Box Elder on Wednesday and fell 60-47. Northridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Viewmont has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season. As for Northridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Viewmont was able to grind out a solid victory over Northridge when the teams last played back in January, winning 61-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Viewmont since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
