Basketball Game Preview: Southwest DeKalb Panthers vs. Tucker Tigers

Having just played yesterday, the Southwest DeKalb Panthers will jump right back in to play the Tucker Tigers at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest DeKalb knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Tucker likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Southwest DeKalb strolled past St. Pius X Catholic with points to spare, taking the game 67-49. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Golden Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Tucker had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 67-63 W against the War Eagles.

Tucker's victory bumped their record up to 21-6. As for Southwest DeKalb, their win bumped their record up to 25-2.

Southwest DeKalb beat Tucker 58-49 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southwest DeKalb since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
