Volleyball Recap: Kingwood Takes a Loss

Kingwood was the 3-0 winner over Goose Creek Memorial when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kingwood couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Goose Creek Memorial a tough time in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-19, 18-25, 19-25, 30-28, 15-13.

Addison Doherty paced Kingwood's offense, picking up 19 kills. Doherty got some help from Carly Thomas and her 39 assists. Maggie Pugh controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Kingwood's defeat dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Goose Creek Memorial, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.

Kingwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against North Shore on the 12th. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against King on the 12th.
