Recap: Somonauk/Leland Bobcats vs. Dakota Indians
The Somonauk/Leland Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 32-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dakota. Somonauk/Leland lost against Dakota in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 43-37 score last time.
Dakota found their leader in underclassman Finley Banks, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Banks is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Hailey Kerchner was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Somonauk/Leland bumped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.5 points per game. As for Dakota, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Somonauk/Leland will be home for the holidays to greet Parkview Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Parkview Christian Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.4 points per game. Dakota will be home for the holidays to greet Warren at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
