Soccer Game Preview: Gulf Breeze vs. St. Paul's

The Gulf Breeze Dolphins will challenge the St. Paul's Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gulf Breeze's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They won by a goal and slipped past Niceville 1-0. Given the Dolphins' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Eagles are ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, St. Paul's made easy work of Alexandria on Monday and carried off a 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for Wolves, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Alexandria with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bryce Bordes (2), Liam Dannels- Smith (2), and Marc Jones (2).

Gulf Breeze's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four matches. As for St. Paul's, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-2 record this season.
