Volleyball Game Preview: Reedley Pirates vs. Immanuel Eagles

The Reedley Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Immanuel Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Tuesday, Reedley got the win against Kerman by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Reedley was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-14, 25-10.

Aldo Elizondo was the offensive standout of the matchup as he had 21 assists and three digs. Angel Zamarripa also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Immanuel not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Selma with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won seven in a row.

Immanuel was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-15, 25-21.

Immanuel's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Reedley, their victory bumped their record up to 15-11.

Reedley was able to grind out a solid win over Immanuel in their previous matchup back in March, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
