Katy Taylor had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Tompkins on Thursday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 16 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kaelyn Lerma made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Lerma was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Jordan Talbert was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 4-for-4.

Katy Taylor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tompkins, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-9.

As of now, neither Katy Taylor nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
