Baseball Game Preview: Grace Christian School Kings vs. St. Anne's-Belfield Saints

The Grace Christian School Kings will challenge the St. Anne's-Belfield Saints at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Grace Christian School has three straight wins, St. Anne's-Belfield has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Grace Christian School made easy work of Richmond Christian and carried off a 17-7 victory. The Kings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Chase Caddell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Andrew Whittington was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Minor, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Grace Christian School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for St. Anne's-Belfield's offense. They lost 14-0 to St. Christopher's on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat St. Anne's-Belfield has suffered since March 27th.

Grace Christian School's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for St. Anne's-Belfield, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
