Basketball Recap: Richmond City School of the Arts Takes a Loss

Richmond City School of the Arts was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 34th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Monacan Chiefs, falling 70-9. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 64-15 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Monacan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sydney Eldredge out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 21 rebounds. Those 17 points gave Eldredge a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of A'Niya Clarke, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Richmond City School of the Arts' defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Monacan, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Monacan beat Richmond City School of the Arts by a score of 66-15 on Friday.
