Baseball Recap: St. Elizabeth's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither St. Elizabeth nor Brandywine made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Vikings won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 3-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

St. Elizabeth's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nicholas Mancini, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Mancini has become a key player for the Vikings: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

St. Elizabeth's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Brandywine, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Elizabeth will challenge First State Military Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brandywine, they will face off against Newark at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
