Softball Recap: Westerly Wins Going Away Against Barrington

Westerly entered their tilt with Barrington on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 15-0 victory. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Bella Mazzarese was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Poole, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Westerly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Barrington only posted a batting average of .143.

Westerly pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Barrington, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westerly will welcome Toll Gate at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Barrington, they will be playing at home against Lincoln at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
