Basketball Game Preview: Sycamore Aviators vs. Mason Comets

The Sycamore Aviators will take on the Mason Comets in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Sycamore's last matchup with Lakota West could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Aviators were dealt a 72-44 loss at the hands of the Firebirds. The Aviators have struggled against the Firebirds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Mason is still undefeated this season after their game against Oak Hills on Tuesday, but Oak Hills came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Comets narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Highlanders 34-32. While the Comets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Sycamore now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Mason, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Sycamore beat Mason 46-35 in their previous matchup back in January. Will the Aviators repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
