Softball Recap: Palisades Beats Hazleton Area for Their Seventh Straight Win

Palisades entered their tilt with Hazleton Area on Saturday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 4-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Karlye Teman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Jordyn Bonelli was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Catie Russo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Palisades pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hazleton Area, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Looking ahead, Palisades is taking a road trip to square off against Southern Lehigh at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hazleton Area, they will welcome Dallas at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
