Volleyball Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Douglas was the 3-0 winner over Oxford when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Douglas was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Oxford work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 23-25, 24-26, 25-17, 15-13.

Despite the loss, Douglas still got an impressive performance from Taylor Smith, who had 11 digs, nine kills, and five aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Pacheco, who had seven digs and four aces.

Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Oxford, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Douglas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Notre Dame Academy on the 17th. As for Oxford, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Blackstone-Millville on the 17th.
