Baseball Recap: McDowell Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for McDowell's offense. They fell just short of the General McLane Lancers by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Trojans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Gaven Chaffee was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Joseph Stephan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple.

McDowell's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for General McLane, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-1 record this season.

As of now, neither McDowell nor General McLane have any future games scheduled.
