Basketball Game Preview: Pueblo Central Wildcats vs. Pueblo County Hornets

Pueblo Central is 10-0 against Pueblo County since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Pueblo Central Wildcats will welcome the Pueblo County Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Pueblo Central turned things around against Pueblo South on Tuesday. They walked away with a 64-56 win over the Colts.

Pueblo Central can attribute much of their success to Ladamien Davis, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds, and Tayvon Evans, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 23 points. The dominant performance gave Davis a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrin Hemphill, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Pueblo County had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Pueblo Centennial by a score of 58-50 on Friday.

Pueblo County's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-9. As for Pueblo Central, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Everything went Pueblo Central's way against Pueblo County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Pueblo Central made off with a 56-36 victory. Will Pueblo Central repeat their success, or does Pueblo County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
