Basketball Recap: Lawrence North Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

If Ben Davis wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lawrence North, they should've done a better job of containing Keadriah Butler. The Lawrence North Wildcats walked away with a 61-52 win over the Ben Davis Giants on Saturday thanks in part to Butler, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 23 points along with five boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Kya Hurt, who posted five points and five assists. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Several Giants players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubri Ingram, who went 8 of 15 en route to 22 points. Shania Curry was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

The victory snapped Lawrence North's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-8 record. As for Ben Davis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Lawrence North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-60 win against Fishers on the 28th. As for Ben Davis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 44-31 loss against Westfield on the 28th.
