Basketball Recap: Glenwood Springs Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Glenwood Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They walked away with a 47-38 victory over the Grand Junction Tigers on Tuesday. The Demons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Glenwood Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mia Sandoval led the charge by going 6 for 15 on her way to 14 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyndsay Helms, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Glenwood Springs pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Grand Junction, they moved to 5-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glenwood Springs will host Grand Junction Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grand Junction, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rifle at 5:30 p.m.
