Softball Game Preview: ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars vs. Brimfield Indians

The ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars will challenge the Brimfield Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. ROWVA/Williamsfield will be strutting in after a victory while Brimfield will be coming in after a defeat.

ROWVA/Williamsfield took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. They put the hurt on Monmouth-Roseville with a sharp 13-3 win. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Brimfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (1-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The match marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

Brimfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josie Wiewel, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Brimfield's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

ROWVA/Williamsfield suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Brimfield in their previous meeting back in May of 2017. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
