Recap: Lake Creek Lions vs. Magnolia West Mustangs
The Lake Creek Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Magnolia West 88-57 at home. Given Lake Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Magnolia West is ranked 1090th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lake Creek was led to victory by Jett Sutton and Aedan Lewis. Sutton scored 13 points along with nine assists and seven rebounds, while Lewis scored 25 points along with five rebounds. Lewis has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caden Puckett, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Lake Creek's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.2 points per game. As for Magnolia West, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.
