Basketball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss

Chaparral's tournament run continued when they took on Boulder City on Saturday. The Chaparral Pumas fell to the Boulder City Eagles 60-55. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 426th in California, while the Eagles are ranked 31st in Nevada).

It was another big night for Sean Pendleton, who went 9 for 17 on his way to 31 points for Boulder City. Pendleton's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Luke Wright was another key player, going 5 for 9 on his way to 16 points.

Chaparral's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Boulder City, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Chaparral will be taking part in a tournament against South East at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Boulder City, they will venture away from home to challenge Orange at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Boulder City is facing Orange at the right time seeing as Orange is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
