Basketball Game Preview: Buckingham Charter Knights vs. Valley Christian Lions

The Buckingham Charter Knights will take on the Valley Christian Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Buckingham Charter is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Sacramento Waldorf on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Buckingham Charter lost 55-34 to Sacramento Waldorf. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Valley Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. 2025 welcomed they with a 100-80 loss courtesy of Argonaut. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1146th, while the Mustangs are ranked 274th).

Valley Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-9. As for Buckingham Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Buckingham Charter suffered a grim 62-37 defeat to Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Buckingham Charter, Chase Clary (who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
