Defending Class 4A champions sack nation's leading passer eight times with strong rush.
Lafayette (La.) won its 31st straight game with a 35-7 triumph over Amory (Miss.) during the Class 4A state semifinals on Friday night.
The defending 4A champions stymied the nation's leading passer,
Forest Williams, sacking him eight times and holding him to 195 yards. He completed 19-of-45. He entered the game with 4,916 yards and 54 touchdowns.
The Panthers finished the year with an 11-4 record after winning a total of just six games the previous two years.
Lafayette coach Anthony Hart told the nemisspreps.com, "We watched what other people did and (defensive coordinator Eric) Robertson and that defensive staff, they chose to rush three because we feel like our three are real good. We dropped a lot of guys in coverage and thought that was the way to go."
