Basketball Recap: Riley Harman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Whitko over Prairie Heights

It was a proper cat-fight when Whitko took on Prairie Heights on Saturday. The Whitko Wildcats fell 56-43 to the Prairie Heights Panthers. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Whitko lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Riley Harman, who went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points along with five assists and five steals. Those five steals gave Harman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Gibson, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points and three steals.

Cade Bachelor was nothing short of spectacular for Prairie Heights: he went 6 for 13 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. Caston Day was another key player, putting up nine points and eight boards.

Whitko's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Prairie Heights, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.

Whitko has already played their next matchup, a 46-43 defeat against Peru on the 31st. As for Prairie Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-55 win against Fremont on the 31st.
