Volleyball Recap: High Plains Falls Despite Big Games from Kenslei Carlson and Tessa Morris

High Plains was the 2-0 winner over Sandy Creek when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Storm fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, High Plains sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 15-25, 30-28.

Despite the loss, High Plains had strong showings from Tessa Morris, who had 15 digs and five assists, and Kenslei Carlson, who had 12 digs.

High Plains dropped their record down to 12-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Sandy Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, High Plains and Sandy Creek will both be playing Fillmore Central the next time they take the court. The Cougars will host the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Storm will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
