Los Alamitos has gone 8-2 against Corona del Mar recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Los Alamitos' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Millikan 1-0. The win was all the more spectacular given the Griffins' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Rams are ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, Corona del Mar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Dana Hills. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Sea Kings couldn't quite close it out.

Corona del Mar's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Los Alamitos, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6-4.

Everything went Los Alamitos' way against Corona del Mar when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Los Alamitos made off with a 4-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Los Alamitos since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
