East Carteret and West Carteret are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Mariners will head out on the road to face off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Carteret will be strutting in after a win while West Carteret will be coming in after a defeat.

East Carteret is headed out to face West Carteret after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Mariners claimed a resounding 56-19 victory over Ocracoke. The win continues a trend for the Mariners in their matchups with the Dolphins: they've now won four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Carteret to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lyrik Oliver, who posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Goodwin, who scored 12 points.

West Carteret kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 72-50 to Pamlico County. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

East Carteret came up short against West Carteret in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 42-35. Can the Mariners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
